Non-combustible windows with a grenamat construction
Non-combustible wooden windows with DP1 resistance
Fixed wooden fire-resistant POZUZ windows with a grenamat construction give you peace of mind and certified fire resistance. As the only company in the Czech Republic, we make a wooden alternative to aluminium or steel DP1 windows.
As the only company in the Czech Republic, we make wooden DP1 windows with a grenamat construction.
Where you would normally have to reach for aluminium or steel, we supply a window that meets the strictest construction requirement for non-combustible parts — and still looks like wood.
Non-combustible construction
A wooden window with a core that releases no heat
The grenamat construction is the non-combustible base of the window — thanks to it, the product meets construction part DP1, meaning it does not increase the intensity of burning.
On the outside, the window still looks like an ordinary wooden window. We fill the joints with fire-resistant strips and sealants that, in the event of a fire, expand many times over and seal the space.

Classes & features
Higher fire resistance with no compromise on looks
Non-combustible windows with a grenamat construction reach high fire-resistance classes and are used where the project requires a non-combustible DP1 construction part.
What to expect from non-combustible windows
- Fixed glazing, non-opening windows
- Any appearance and shape to measure
- Non-combustible construction part (DP1)
- Fire glass for glazed infills
- Fire-resistant sealants that expand many times over in a fire
Before we start production, we will prepare a 2D or 3D model of the windows to give you a better idea.
We can help even where you would otherwise have to reach for metal

Where you can use them
Part of fire walls and glazed infills
We combine non-combustible windows with fire doors and wooden DP3 windows — creating complete fire walls.
We prepare everything to suit your building, your designer, architect, investor and the fire brigade — and so that the non-combustible windows do not disturb the character of the building.

Frequently asked questions
Your most common questions
What are windows with a grenamat construction and what makes them unique?
They are fixed wooden fire-resistant windows with a non-combustible construction part in class DP1. As the only company in the Czech Republic, we can make a wooden alternative to aluminium or steel DP1 windows — the window looks wooden, yet meets the strictest construction requirement for non-combustible parts. We make them in any shape, but only as non-opening (fixed glazing).
What fire resistance do your windows offer?
We make non-combustible windows with a grenamat construction in classes EW15 – EW60 and EI15 – EI60, with a DP1 construction part. The products are tested and certified in accordance with the relevant standards and are verified by TZÚS Praha and PAVUS, a.s.
What does the DP1 construction part mean?
DP1 are products that do not release heat during a fire and therefore do not increase the intensity of burning. That is exactly why a non-combustible construction is required where fire-safety demands are highest — for example at escape routes. DP3, by contrast, are products that release heat during a fire.
How is it possible that wooden windows don’t burn?
Wooden windows do of course burn, but only after a given time. This time is given by the numerical value in their fire resistance. For example, EW-30 = they resist for 30 minutes and only then burn. This allows people to be evacuated in time and prevents fire from reaching, for example, escape routes.
Can non-combustible windows be opened?
We make DP1 windows with a grenamat construction only as non-opening (fixed glazing). On the other hand, we can make them in practically any shape and appearance so that they fit the character of the building. We make side-hung or top-hung windows in the DP3 class.
What do the EW, EI, DP and other markings mean?
DP1 – products that do not release heat during a fire. DP3 – products that release heat during a fire. EW – products that limit fire for a certain time (EW15 = 15 minutes). EI – products that prevent fire and are tight against smoke penetration. SC – smoke-tight products with automatic closing.
